Make love to my mind and leave passion marks on my soul -Shyonda Adams
These two quotes couldn't feel more incomplete. How can you touch someone with your spirit without having an encounter with their spirit? How does the soul and the spirit differ? Are the two entities interconnected? Questions to ponder....I always loved my girl Shyonda's line because I think the mind can open doors no man can close. The mind is a powerful thing, once a man or woman believes something it will transcend from being a mere thought to something tangible. Only then do people see the power of thoughts, when things they have thought of have manifested themselves before their eyes. I always wonder about philosophers and how one can trained their brain or if their brain is even trained at all? Their thoughts obviously have no order and therefore can push pass the "norm." How can one find order in things that are not tangible? How can you explain things that are not visible....sure we have things like emotion. Things you feel and do not see but does those things not have a level of tangibility even to that person. Hence the ability to explain and be comprehended by another? Or do we think we understand people's emotions, but really we are lost in translation? Because truthfully only the person who feels, touches, encounters, interacts, embodies, engulfs, etc can truly understand? Newton 3 law of motion the law is valid through and through. This can be applied to every life form, particle both positive and negative, even the small specks of dirt under your feet (which we fail to appreciate its true value especially in the growing process). tbc

The Dope Artist
ODE to the Beautiful Stranger.....
....When the walls come tumblin' down
When the walls come crumblin'
crumblin' ...
-John Cougar Mellencamp
I never met someone that made me feel like there was no judgements, filters, or "representatives." Overtime, I have had to become a chameleon due to multiple living environments. I couldn't be the bubbly outgoing person I am in every environment, so I have become a shy person over the years. However with this person I couldn't mask my true self or what I felt...I do not know if that is because this person is such an amazing person or... *sighs this person is pretty freakin' awesome. This artist has a way of bringing things out of people. This Beautiful Stranger (B*S*) is actually the reason you have the opportunity to see a window into my soul. I have an interesting perception of the world and this person has a peculiar way of thinking about things. Therefore, this made for a eventful encounter..I felt hypnotized by B*S* 's eyes and I opened myself as if I were talking to my best friend. I told this person things that I would be cautious about telling Jesus. scary right!? I admire this person's passion....so where will the yellow brick road take us???

Graduation....Spring 2013
My wonderful floor mate, roommate, turned neighbor, turned resident is finally graduating and leaving me for the Big Apple. This is the friend that encourages me to live a little.... soooo I'm everyone's good girl, pacifier, comforter, angel, etc. This requires me to remain level headed and rooted in the things of God. However, I struggle with being "the mother to my friends" and being the twenty years young girl/lady that I am. I have limited responsibility, yet I am an octopus jugging multiple hats. I am on my way to being the leader of generations to come, I am an assistant to residents, I am a mentor to many, a friend, a daughter, a sister, . My mission is to preserve humanity but sometimes I think I really need to be it's savior. Often I am emotionally wounded by the digital age. I miss the days of leaving the house and meeting strangers who became best friends. All of our encounters before she became my resident, where coincidental. For example, the day we met. There was a huge snow storm that shut down the campus. We were both going to the elevator at the same time. Naturally, I am a friendly person, so I spoke to her on the way down. I found out that we were both on the search for food and we learned we had lots of things in common. I met a beautiful stranger that day who turned into one of my best friends. A friend that I will have forever, she is constantly teaching me things. I feel like she exposes me to people, places and things I would have never encountered on my own. As I sit here sipping my ginger tea, (she gave me) I am forming a bond with spice that is not native to me. The more we interact the deeper my love grows for my friend. I learn to be more selfless or to be a little more cautious. The most important lesson she taught was to live a little, let my hair down.
